CASTELLO DI RIVARA-IOLAS

Il Castello di Rivara – Centro d’Arte Contemporanea inaugurates the new season with a series of exhibitions documenting and bringing back the original and possibly unique socio-cultural humus and fervour which in the late 1960s and early 70s gave birth to a very rich artistic season, which is specifically embodied by the power of Performance Art.

Franz Paludetto is restaging that time, that international context which gave us a most significant and meaningful artistic experience: he uses a personal and participated selection of images, posters, written documents, written productions and narrations at the Photographic Archive and Documentation Centre of the Castello di Rivara thus retracing events and happenings of artists such as Tania Mouraud and La Monte Young, Nanda Vigo and Renato Mambor, Aldo Mondino, Not Vital, Man Ray, Alighiero Boetti and Salvo, Gianni Milano, Hermann Nitsch, Tino Stefanoni, Paolo Icaro, Nicola Carlino, Paolo Mussat Sartor, and Gina Pane.

Our first appointment is on Sunday March the 1st from 10.30 am to 6.30 pm with an exhibition on Alexander Iolas, the gallery owner of Greek descent, eccentric funambulist, a magnet of great stories as well as a being a intimate performer when living his life.
Every Sunday after there will be an appointment to present the work of another artist that will be added to the ones already on show, an ongoing exhibition in progress.
